GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Levothyroxine is given to dogs diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. It is rarely given to cats, but may be prescribed if the thyroid glands have been surgically removed. It is given for the lifetime of your pet to supplement hormones that are not sufficiently produced.Dosage of this drug may be adjusted according to the regular blood work your pet receives.
HOW IT WORKS:
Hypothyroidism occurs when the thyroid glands produce insufficient amounts of the two hormones Thyroxine (T4) and Triiodothyronine (T3). These hormones perform many key functions in your pet’s body, most notably their role in regulating the metabolism. T4 is converted into T3 by your pet’s body according to their body’s needs. Levothyroxine is a synthetic thyroid hormone that replaces T4 when these hormones are not being properly produced.STORAGE INFORMATION:
Store in a tightly sealed container at room temperature.MISSED DOSE?
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give your pet two doses at once.SIDE EFFECTS & DRUG REACTIONS

* Estrogen
