The Vizsla is thought to have descended from the dogs that traveled with the nomadic tribes that moved across Europe thousands of years ago. Sometime in the 19th century the people of Hungary refined the Vizsla breed into the hunting and pointed breed that is known for today.

APPEARANCE(S)

Vizslas are large bodied dogs with a powerful build. They have a high tucked abdomen and a deep chest. The head is broad at the top and the ears are drop. The eyes are usually golden brown or amber and the tail if often docked.

COLOR(S)


This breed is most commonly seen in various shades of golden rust.

The coat is short and smooth.

Vizslas are loving and loyal to the family. They are good with kids and other animals. They are bright, and love to play games. This breed excels at canine sports and bird hunting.

THINGS TO CONSIDER


This breed needs a lot of exercise and need to be given a lot of attention and need space to run off the leash. Vizslas do not like to be teased; they do not have patience and will become aggressive.

IDEAL LIVING SITUATION

The Vizsla needs daily exercise and a lot of attention.
