The Tibetan Terrier is considered one of the ancient breeds. This breed originated around 2000 years ago in the mountains of Tibet. The Buddhist monks were known to keep these dogs as companions, and they were thought to bring good luck.

APPEARANCE(S)

The Tibetan Terrier has a medium size body type. They have round dark eyes and drop ears, and the tail is carried high above the rump.

COLOR(S)


This breed is most commonly seen in most solid colors, or a solid color and white.

COAT


The coat is long and straight and it usually touches the ground. They have an outercoat that is dense and fine and can have some wave. The undercoat is wooly and soft. The coat of the Tibetan Terrier has a natural part that goes down the middle of the back. The coat on the face is usually long and covers the eyes.

This breed is usually good with children and other dogs. Tibetan Terriers are playful and make great running partners.

The Tibetan Terrier can be wary of strangers, but once they warm up they are loving. This breed is known to bark a lot, and they do require regular grooming.
