The Old English Sheepdog originated in 19th century England. They were used to drive herds of sheep to different grazing areas. Old English Sheepdogs were also used as livestock herders and guardians. It is thought that OES were descended from the Scotch Bearded Collie and the Russian Owtchar.
APPEARANCE(S)
Old English Sheepdogs are large bodied dogs with drop ears and bobtails.COLOR(S)
This breed is most commonly seen in shades of gray, grizzle, blue or blue merle with or without white markings.
COAT
The outercoat is long and shaggy with a rough texture, often covering the eyes. The undercoat is dense and waterproof.

This breed is very loving and happy, and can be quite goofy at times. They love kids and get along with other dogs. Old English Sheepdogs are very smart and enjoy learning new things, and excel at canine sports.
