The Mastiff has been around since Caesar was head of Rome. The Mastiff fought along side the Roman army and was greatly admired for their bravery. They have been used for centuries as guard dogs and hunting dogs.

APPEARANCE(S)

Mastiffs are large powerfully built dogs, one of the largest of the dog breeds. They have massive heads and wrinkles on the forehead, and jowls that hang down over the chin. Mastiffs usually have dark ears and black masks on the face over the eyes and mouth.

COLOR(S)


This breed is most commonly seen in fawn, red and brindle.

The coats are short.

The Mastiff is extremely loyal to his family. They are quite affectionate with the family, including children.

THINGS TO CONSIDER


The Mastiffs are obviously great protectors of their domain. They will do much better if socialized at a young age to children and other dogs. Owning a Mastiff can be a great responsibility. Even if they are well trained and normally not aggressive, should they decide to attack, this dog will inflict fatal damages
