The Kuvaszok (plural) is an ancient breed that originated in Tibet around the 13th century. They were used for hunting and protecting livestock. The Kuvaszok was a popular dog with Hungarian royalty, as they were well known for their bravery.

APPEARANCE(S)

The Kuvasz is a large bodied dog with a deep chest and high tucked abdomen. The head is triangular with wide set round brown eyes and black nose.

COLOR(S)


This breed is most commonly seen in white.

COAT


The coat is heavy and thicker around the neck and tail. The outer coat is medium to coarse, while the undercoat is soft and fluffy.

The Kuvasz is a very brave dog, for this reason they make excellent guard dogs. They are loyal and loving to the family.

THINGS TO CONSIDER


The Kuvasz needs to be with an experienced dog family. They can be aggressive to strangers and do not do well with children or small animals. It is highly recommended that any owner should do obedience training for this breed.
