The Fox Terrier was bred to be a bolting dog in fox hunting. They would run into fox holes and drive the fox out to the waiting hunters. This is still a popular hunting breed today, and they have become a favorite companion dog as well.

APPEARANCE(S)

Fox Terriers have a small to medium build. The head has a triangle shape with a long narrow muzzle. The ears are semiprick, and the eyes are round. The tail is medium in length and is held erect.

COLOR(S)


This breed is most commonly seen in white with tan and black or white and tan.

COAT


The coats can be wiry or smooth in texture and short in length.

The Fox Terrier is bright and brave. They love to play games and are generally hyper by nature. They love the family and bark at strangers.

THINGS TO CONSIDER


This breed will do better with older children, and will chase small animals and they can be food aggressive. Fox Terriers are known to dig in the yard when they are not given as much attention as needed.
