The Finnish Spitz originated in Finland in the 19th century. They were bred to be hunters as well as good companions.

APPEARANCE(S)

Finnish spitz’s are medium sized dogs with triangular heads on erect ears. The tail is bushy and carried over the back.

COLOR(S)


The Finnish spitz is most commonly seen different shades of honey or rust.

COAT


The outercoat is medium in length, and straight and harsh. The undercoat is thick, dense and soft. The undercoat is shed during the warmer months of the year.

Finnish spitz’s are VERY clever dogs, for this reason they are easily trainable. This breed makes good watchdogs and they do well with children and other dogs.

This breed will bark constantly if they are left alone for to long.

This breed will do well in the city or in the country. This dog needs a family that is active and will provide an active lifestyle.
