The English springer spaniel originated in the 17th century and was used for flushing out and retrieving pheasants. They are still used today as pheasant hunting dogs.

APPEARANCE(S)

English Springer Spaniels are medium sized dogs with a sturdy build. The head is medium in size with shorter muzzle than other spaniels, and they have long droopy ears.

COLOR(S)


This breed is most commonly seen in white and black; white and liver; liver, blue or black. It is common to see freckles on the muzzle and legs.

COAT


The coat can be flat or wavy and is medium in length. They have the distinctive spaniel feathers on the belly, chest, ears, and legs.

English Springer Spaniels are lovely family dogs. They love to play, and are great with kids and other animals. This breed loves to learn new things; they are very alert to their surroundings.

This breed needs a lot of exercise and needs to be groomed regularly. This breed has been known to be food aggressive, and generally does not like to share their toys with other dogs in the house.
