The Bull Terrier originated in the mid 19th century where they were bred and used for the barbaric sport of bull baiting and in pit fighting. They are descendents of the Bulldog and the now extinct white terrier. The early Bull Terrier was aggressive and only kept for fighting. When bull baiting was made illegal, the breed was bred to be gentle, and became popular companion dogs.
APPEARANCE(S)
Bull Terriers are medium powerfully built dogs. They are low to the ground and have a very heavy build with a massive amount of muscle. The head is egg shaped with small almond shaped eyes. The ears are large and erect, and the tail is long and skinny and carried high.COLOR(S)
This breed is most commonly seen in white, red, fawn or brindle.

The coats are short and smooth.

This breed is lively and quite playful. They love their families and enjoy playing games. The Bull Terrier requires a lot of attention.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
Bull Terriers do not generally get along with other dogs. They will chase small animals and are not recommended to live with cats. If this breed does not get enough attention, behavioral problems will occur.
