The Borzoi was bred to hunt wolves in Russia by pairs. They are thought to be descendants of the greyhounds and saluki. They are no longer used for hunting, and are most loved for their companionability.

APPEARANCE(S)

Borzois are large dogs with long legs and a high abdomen. The heads are long and narrow, and ears are down.


COLOR(S)


This breed can have any kind of color or combination of color; however they are most commonly seen with white with some color patched on.

COAT


The coat is long and silky soft, with a dense undercoat.

THINGS TO CONSIDER


Borzois are known to be snappy with children and cats; they can be very leery of new people. This breeds needs to be socialized at a young age. They will chase cats and other small animals.
