The Basset Hound is a direct descendent of the Bloodhound. It is also widely thought that the Basset Hound is a dwarf breed, originated from some dwarf puppies, but there is no concrete evidence of this. This hound was most notable kept by nobility and used from hunting small game like rabbit, the Basset Hound was trained to hunt the animal but not kill.
APPEARANCE(S)
Basset Hounds have a long short heavy body type. The head is very large with long droopy ears, the eyes are also droopy. The legs are short and the front feet tend to face outward, the tail is long and skinny.COLOR(S)
The Basset Hound is tri colored, very typical for a true hound.COAT
