The American Pit Bull Terrier was developed by crossing a Bulldog and a Terrier breed from England. This breed was originally used to protect the family and were known as good companions. This breed has also been bred to fight but this practice is now illegal.

APPEARANCE(S)

American Pit Bull Terriers have large muscular bodies and an extreme sense of self. They have a large block head and pronounced jaws. The ears are semi-erect; however it is most common to see them cropped. The tail is medium length.

The American Pit Bull Terrier can be any combination of colors.
