The Airedale Terrier was bred originally to hunt small game, but then was bred again to be larger and more robust to hunt large game. More notable in current times, the Airedale has been used on police forces and in the military.

APPEARANCE(S)

Airedales are very large and robust in size. The head is long and pointy with a beard and small round eyes. This breed has a very impressive muscular build and has great strength.

COLOR(S)

The Airedale is black and tan.

COAT

Medium to short thick wiry coats.

Airedales are good with children and love to play. They make excellent watch dogs and are very brave.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

This breed is known to be stubborn, therefore training is essential. The Airedale is also been known to chase smaller animals.

IDEAL LIVING SITUATION

This breed will do well in the city or in the country, although an apartment situation would not be ideal.
