HISTORY

The Burmilla cats are attributed to be a result of accidental breeding between a chinchilla Persian and a lilac Burmese in 1981.

APPEARANCE(S)

Much like the Burmese, the Burmilla are medium-sized cats with compact muscular bodies and round faces with short muzzles. There should be a distinctive M mark on the forehead.

Burmese come in a variety of colors including brown, sable, blue, chocolate, champagne, lilac, platinum, red, and cream. There are tortoiseshell variations of these colors as well.

Burmilla’s are great with children. Combined with their low maintenance and wonderful disposition they make an ideal family pet. The Burmilla is an outgoing, friendly and sociable cat that has inherited slightly modified characteristics from both of the original parents.
